Acting President Choi attended the New Year's greeting ceremony held at the Korea Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Seoul today (3rd) and said, "Please take the lead in exports, investment and job creation by using the crisis as an opportunity for new growth and leap forward."
While domestic demand is still recovering slowly, the Korean economy is facing uncertainties that it has not experienced so far, he said. "We need the spirit of innovation and challenges that businessmen have shown in every crisis now," he said, stressing that the government will support it until the end.
Acting President Choi promised to come up with a systematic response strategy in response to uncertainties in the trade environment, including the launch of a new U.S. government, and to focus on customized corporate support to boost exports and investment.
He also said that he will continue to do what he needs to do without wavering while protecting companies from threats with the belief that the economy will live only when the Republic of Korea lives.
