The 8th floor commercial building near Yatap Station in Bundang...Working on the rescue

At around 4:40 p.m. today (3rd), a large fire broke out in a shopping mall with five basement floors and eight ground floors in Yatap-dong, Bundang-gu, Seongnam-si, Gyeonggi-do.

The fire department received several reports of a fire in the kitchen of a snack bar on the first floor of the building, and fire authorities once issued the second stage of response to mobilize manpower and equipment from 8 to 14 nearby fire stations and began extinguishing them.

The fire department lowered its response level to the first stage at around 5:20 p.m. as a large fire was caught in about 30 minutes.

The building on fire has restaurants and hospitals, and more than 50 people have been evacuated and 40 people have been rescued.

Twelve of them were taken to the hospital after inhaling smoke.

Fire authorities are continuing rescue efforts by clearing out the remaining fires.
