A fire broke out at around 4:30 p.m. today in an eight-story building near Yatap Station in Seongnam, Gyeonggi-do.
Several people were reported to be isolated because it was a complex building with restaurants and hospitals, but more than 300 people were rescued or evacuated.

At around 4:40 p.m. today (3rd), a five-story underground and eight-story commercial building in Yatap-dong, Bundang-gu, Seongnam-si, Gyeonggi-do, caught fire.
It was found that there were about 300 citizens in the building, which houses restaurants and hospitals.
Of these, 70 were evacuated, and 240 were rescued by firefighters.
More than 130 of those evacuated were smoky, 34 of whom were taken to hospitals.
Fortunately, no patients are reported to be in critical condition.
Fire authorities said they received a number of reports of a fire in the kitchen on the first floor.
At one point, it issued the second stage of response to mobilize personnel and equipment from 8 to 14 nearby fire stations and started extinguishing them.
The response stage was lowered to the first stage at around 5:20 p.m. as a large fire was caught in about 30 minutes.
The fire authorities plan to continue the search for life after completing the work to extinguish the residual fire.
