At around 10:30 a.m. today (4th), a fishing boat with 21 people on board collided with a seashore rock in waters near Gageodo Island in Sinan-gun, Jeollanam-do.
Mokpo Maritime Police immediately received a report and was dispatched to rescue 18 crew members along with a civilian rescue ship.
One of those rescued is said to be unconscious.
The Coast Guard is also searching for three people, including the captain, the crew, and the passengers of the fishing boat.
The Coast Guard will investigate the exact cause of the accident as soon as the rescue operation is completed.
