At around 10:30 a.m. today (4th), a fishing boat with 21 people on board collided with a seashore rock in waters near Gageodo Island in Sinan-gun, Jeollanam-do.
The Mokpo Coast Guard immediately received a report and was dispatched to rescue 18 crew members along with fishing boats and civilian rescue ships.
All rescued people were taken to hospitals, one of whom is said to be unconscious.
The Coast Guard is also continuing to search for three people, including the captain, the crew, and the passengers of the fishing boat.
The Coast Guard will investigate the exact cause of the accident as soon as the rescue operation is completed.
