Police and firefighters conducted a joint inspection yesterday (3rd) at an eight-story commercial building near Yatap Station in Seongnam-si, Gyeonggi-do.

About 10 people, including the Gyeonggi Southern Police Agency's scientific investigation unit and fire department, conducted an hour-long inspection of the snack bar on the first floor of the building, which is believed to have caught fire for the first time from 10 a.m. today (4th).

Police and firefighters suspect that the fire, which started while cooking food in the kitchen of the restaurant, spread through an oil-stained ventilation device, and will investigate the exact cause based on the appraisal obtained at the scene.

Around 4:30 p.m. yesterday, a fire broke out in an eight-story commercial building near Yatap Station, and 240 people were rescued and 70 people were evacuated, of which 35 people who inhaled smoke were taken to hospitals.
