Police have launched an investigation into malicious online posts insulting the victims and bereaved families of the Jeju Air plane disaster and spreading fake news.

The government also asked the police for a quick investigation, pointing out that it was a clear criminal act.

This is an article posted on an online community that is only available to doctors.

The children of the victims of the Jeju Air disaster shared an article that said they were preparing for the national examination of doctors, and there were a series of comments mocking the victims and their bereaved families.

A false video was also posted on YouTube that a firefighter died while working on a rescue operation at the scene of the disaster, and the National Fire Agency even posted a notice, saying, "There are no firefighters who died."

So far, 86 false and malicious articles about the Jeju Air disaster have been posted online.

The police started an investigation into these posts before they were booked.

First of all, we are working on specifying publishers, and seizure warrants have been executed on five articles and 44 are awaiting issuance of warrants.

The remaining 37 cases are being discussed with the prosecution and community operators on how to secure data.

The government also asked the police for a quick investigation.

Earlier, the bereaved families' delegation filed a complaint calling for punishment of malicious posts targeting victims and bereaved families.

Police said they are closely reviewing all reports and reports that came online and at the reporting center at the site of Muan International Airport, including the bereaved family's complaint.
