The Korean Confederation of Trade Unions and others have held a two-day rally in some lanes near their official residence since yesterday, but they began occupying all lanes of Hannam-daero around 3:30 p.m. today.
The organizers explained that they were protesting by allowing the police to use the assembly site narrowly rather than previously reported.
The National Police Service personnel lined up on the tram line in Hannam-daero and blocked the rally participants, and at the scene, some of the anti-impeachment rally participants once had physical fights.
Earlier, at around 12:30 p.m., the Korean Confederation of Trade Unions protested that the police were blocking them, but two members of the union were arrested for assaulting the police.
A police officer who was holding off participants during the march was treated at a hospital with head injuries.
