As Tomiko Itooka of Japan, the world's oldest man, died late last year, a Brazilian nun became the world's oldest man.

LongjibeQuest, an organization responsible for research and verification of longevity in humans over the age of 105, has identified Sister Ina Canavarro Lucas of Brazil as the world's oldest person.

The Associated Press reported that Sister Canavarro, who was born on June 8, 1908, is now on her 210th day in 116 years, as of four days local time.

Sister Canavaro was also blessed by Pope Francis on her 110th birthday in 2018.
