YTN reports confirmed that the People's Power is pushing for a measure to call Lee Jae-myung, the leader of the Democratic Party of Korea, as a witness to the special committee on parliamentary investigation to find out the truth about the December 3 emergency martial law incident.

An official of the ruling party's special committee told YTN that the need to adopt witnesses against Lee Jae-myung, Rep. Kim Min-seok, and broadcaster Kim Eo-jun has been publicized at the ruling party's special committee and plans to pursue it.

The official mentioned a recent media interview with Lee Seok-yeon, the former head of the Legislative Office, explaining why it is necessary to confirm as there is a statement that Lee has expressed concerns about declaring martial law five days before martial law.

In the case of Rep. Kim Min-seok, it is necessary to verify that the Democratic Party of Korea insisted on martial law in the early stages, and that broadcaster Kim Eo-jun insisted on "alarming" by attending a pending question at the National Assembly Standing Committee on emergency martial law.

The Democratic Party previously said it would set up a Yoon Suk Yeol president as a witness for the special committee on national affairs, and that it would push for it alone if the ruling party did not cooperate.

The special committee is expected to deal with the adoption of witnesses at the second plenary session to be held the day after tomorrow (7th).

The emergency martial law special committee, which was launched on the 31st of last month and will be active for 45 days until the 13th of next month, consists of 18 members, including 10 Democratic Party of Korea, 7 People's Power, and 1 non-conservative organization.
