The Washington Post wrote an article titled "Why are the American flags and pro-Trump slogans used in Korea?"

The English slogan "Stop the Steal" used by supporters of Yoon Suk Yeol's president is the same as that used by Trump supporters who disobeyed the presidential election four years ago.

The newspaper analyzed that the Korean conservative camp's chanting of this slogan reflects the increasing similarity between President Yoon and Trump's political statements.

Like Trump, who claimed to be fraudulent in the presidential election and targeted his internal enemy, President Yoon also deployed martial law troops to the NEC, saying the opposition party is an anti-state force.

The newspaper also noted that President Yoon cited the U.S. Supreme Court ruling that recognized Trump's immunity in his response to the Constitutional Court.

However, he pointed out that unlike the United States, Korean law excludes the president's rebellion from the exemption.

In the meantime, Elon Musk, who has become Trump's closest ally, shared a photo of a sign saying "Stop the Steal," writing "Wow," but did not add a separate explanation.

The Washington Post also introduced the U.S. Virginia flag flying at Gwangju Metropolitan City Hall on the 3rd, when President Yoon attempted to arrest him.

The flag has a picture of Virtus, the goddess of good, stepping on the god of dictatorship, along with the Latin slogan, "This is how the tyrant says it."

The newspaper said that it means that President Yoon will eventually face the fate of the tyrant in the painting.

The flag hanging in Gwangju City was sent by Governor Glenn Youngkin to thank the Virginia delegation for their hospitality in November last year, the newspaper added.
