Acting President Choi Sang-mok said at the first meeting on foreign economic issues held at the Seoul Government Complex this morning (6th) that domestic political conditions and economic uncertainties at home and abroad are expected to expand significantly this year.
In order to preemptively respond to the launch of the new U.S. government, he said he will examine issues by industry that have a great ripple effect on our economy and come up with a plan for cooperation with the U.S. from the perspective of national interest.
He added that even after the new Trump administration was launched, it would use all available means to communicate with the U.S. government, so that external uncertainty would not be difficult for our companies' investment, employment, or people's livelihoods.
Acting President Choi Sang-mok said that historically, the current situation was a turning point in determining national power and national wealth, and stressed that he would soft-land the economy in a new trade environment based on solid diplomacy and security.
