The high-ranking government official's criminal investigation office, which investigates the president of Yoon Suk Yeol on charges of rebellion, said it could re-transfer the case to another investigative agency at some stage.

When asked about the possibility of re-transferring the case to the police or prosecution today (6th), Lee Jae-seung, deputy chief of the Senior Civil Servant Corruption Investigations Unit, replied, "We will not insist on investigating President Yoon for unnecessary reasons or proceed arbitrarily."

He also explained that if he fulfills the role of the Senior Civil Servant Corruption Investigations Unit according to the procedure, the case will be handed over to the prosecution, which has the right to prosecute, and if a special prosecutor is established, it will be handed over to the special prosecutor.

Earlier, the Senior Civil Servant Corruption Investigations Unit exercised its right to demand the prosecution and the police to transfer the case, and took over the case of President Yoon from the prosecution following the police.
