Jeon Yong-gi, chairman of the National Communications Commission, demonstrated the website at the Supreme Council and explained that the system was created to efficiently report false information spread online.
Representative Lee Jae-myung, who was watching the demonstration, recently said that fake news circulated that "the police were hit by protesters and became a coma," and that the power of the people made fake comments, and asked them to report it instead.
CEO Lee also pointed out that the fine alone is too weak, saying that it should not end with a simple complaint and that he wishes to file a financial treatment, or a lawsuit for damages.
