Actor Yoo Yeon-seok expressed his gratitude for the viewer's reaction to supporting the actual meeting with Chae Soo-bin, the counterpart of the drama "The Phone You Called Now." It's not really like that, but he said he felt good because it was proof that he watched it with that much immersion.

Yoo Yeon-seok said in an interview at the end of MBC's "The Phone You Called Now" held at the King Kong by Starship headquarters in Cheongdam-dong, Gangnam-gu, Seoul on the afternoon of the 6th. The drama, in which he played the lead role, achieved a national viewership of 8.6% in the final episode, breaking its own highest ratings, and achieving a successful ending.

With this drama, Yoo Yeon-seok won the Miniseries Award for Best Actor at the "2024 MBC Acting Awards" and won the Best Couple Award along with Chae Soo-bin. When he congratulated him in the interview, Yoo Yeon-seok said, "I didn't expect it, and I had mixed feelings."

"The broadcast was yesterday (5th), but as we were forced to carry out our schedule after the accident (Jeju Air passenger plane disaster), there were many people to be grateful for, but I felt ironic and sorry that we were receiving the award," he said carefully.

He also confessed that he did not expect to win the Best Performance Award, and that he was looking forward to the Best Couple Award while filming the drama. Yoo Yeon-seok and Chae Soo-bin drove the popularity of the work by immersively depicting the process of the show window couple realizing their feelings for each other and slowly getting closer.

As the chemistry between the two was well received, the "Sajoo Couple (Baek Sa-eon + Hong Hee-ju)" received a lot of support from drama fans to the extent that some say that the two actors are actually dating or that it would be better to develop into a real lover.

Yoo Yeon-seok responded, "Our drama has a genre called thriller, but it deals with pure love." He also said, "I wanted the two characters to love each other even hotter enough to cheer for the actors to meet, so I didn't actually, but I felt good."

He also explained that he was involved in the same agency as Chae Soo-bin, but he became close only when he worked on the work. Yoo Yeon-seok said, "I had a friend, but I have to work to get close to the actors. Chae Soo-bin's passion for acting was not spared. Chae Soo-bin had to prepare for the sign language by playing a character who was suffering from a sudden accident when she was young and was active as a sign language interpreter while playing a large part as the heroine.

Yoo Yeon-seok said, "We prepared sign language long before Chae Soo-bin went into shooting, and we had to change the sign language we usually do and prepare again." I want to applaud him because he seems to have created a charming character through sign language."

Yoo Yeon-seok also expressed his extraordinary affection for the work by singing the OST of Baek Sa-eon's story towards Hong Hee-joo at the end of the play, as well as expressing the multi-layered change of the character in a dense manner. He said, "I'm sorry that the work is coming to an end, and I think the fans will be too, so I prepared."

The OST is expected to be available on stage at Yoo Yeon-seok's domestic fan meeting on the 18th. Yoo Yeon-seok said, "I like it because I can think of dramas and characters when I sing this song when I meet my fans. We also have other sections," he said, further raising fans' expectations.
