The People's Power spokesman, Shin Dong-wook, issued an op-ed condemning the resumption of North Korea's armed protests as a clear violation of U.N. Security Council resolutions and a provocation that violates international consensus and threatens security and peace on the Korean Peninsula.
He then urged the opposition to be careful and cooperate in filling the security vacuum, saying that they are focusing only on impeachment and fueling confusion in state affairs.
Minjoo Party spokesman Han Min-soo said in a written briefing that North Korea's provocations will not only aggravate the situation on the Korean Peninsula but will not yield any real benefits.
The government then asked for efforts to ensure that people who are anxious about the domestic political situation are not more anxious due to North Korea's provocations.
