Police have decided to launch an international cooperation investigation into the threatening e-mail from Japan, which warned of a bombing, claiming that the Jeju Air accident was their responsibility.
Police suspect the crime was committed by the same person as the terrorist threatening criminal that has continued since 2023.

On the 30th of last month, an employee of the Ministry of Justice received an email announcing a bombing.
The e-mail written in Japanese and English said that they were responsible for the Jeju Air disaster and would set off high-performance bombs in many places in downtown Korea.
Three days later, similar faxes arrived at the Office of the People's Power Party and the floor leader Kwon Sung-dong.
The sender is Takahiro Karasawa, the name of a lawyer who actually works in Japan.
The lawyer posted on X and said, "My name is being used without permission," and "I think this crime was caused by a sick young man in Japan," adding, "Korea and Japan cooperate" to catch criminals.
The police have decided to conduct an international cooperation investigation to catch the blackmailer.
We plan to ask the Japanese police for cooperation through Interpol and conduct international criminal justice cooperation through diplomatic channels.
Police suspect that the same person who sent bombshell threatening emails to Lee Jae-myung, chairman of the Democratic Party of Korea, the National Museum of Korea, and Seoul City Hall since 2023.
At that time, e-mails were sent under the name of a Japanese lawyer named Takahiro Karasawa and Yuaki Yamaoka, and the Internet address was also in Japan.
The police also asked Japan to cooperate in 2023, but they could not identify the culprit.
