IAEA "drone strikes at training center in Ukra"

The International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) announced on the 6th local time that some facilities in Ukraine's Zaporizhzhia nuclear power complex were attacked by drones.

Local IAEA safety management experts reported hearing two loud explosions at the nuclear power plant training center at 12:45 p.m. and 3:45 p.m. the previous day.

The drone was shot down by air defences, but the debris that exploded in the air is said to have fallen into some facilities and around the training center.

"Ukrainian forces have sent eight drones to the Zaporizhzhia nuclear power plant and the nearby city of Enerhodar, all of which have been shot down," Russia's defence ministry said in a statement.

Ukraine has not responded to this.

The IAEA emphasized that "military activities near the Zaporizhzhia nuclear power plant are increasing," and that "attacks on the nuclear power plant are absolutely unacceptable."
