The National Police Agency's National Investigation Headquarters said it is investigating 126 malicious posts that slander the victims of the Jeju Air plane disaster and their families as of 5 p.m. yesterday (5th).

The police said that indiscriminate posting of malicious posts and videos is a serious criminal act, and urged the spread of scaremongering to prevent the bereaved families from suffering any more.

He also stressed that he is reviewing all reports or reports related to malicious texts received online with the Muan Airport site, and that he plans to identify and arrest publishers as soon as possible in consultation with bereaved families and others.

Earlier, the South Jeolla Provincial Police Agency arrested a man in his 30s who posted a slanderous post about compensation for the bereaved family, who reportedly admitted to the crime and apologized.
