"Kursk repels Ukra counterattack"...We've been fighting for two days.

Russian forces claimed to have repelled Ukrainian counterattacks in the battleground state of Kursk yesterday (6th).

The Russian Defense Ministry said Ukrainian forces had lost up to 485 troops and 10 tanks in Kursk in the past 24 hours.

Ukraine seized some territories after a surprise attack on Kursk in August last year, and launched a counterattack yesterday (5th) after being pushed back by the Russian military's restoration operation.

Local Russian media said Ukrainian forces attempted to capture the town of Kursk with minesweeping vehicles and heavy equipment, but Russian forces attacked Ukrainian forces with artillery and air power.

But Reuters, citing military bloggers, said the Russians were very worried as they were being attacked from various directions in Kursk.

It also reported that Ukrainian forces have been attacking in Kursk for the second day, causing fierce fighting.
