DAPA "Completed to maximize the performance of 5 types of K-series armored vehicles...Sequential enlargement"

The Defense Acquisition Program Administration said it has completed a performance maximization project for five types of K-affiliated armored vehicles.

The target armoured vehicles are K200A1 (carrying infantry) and K242A1 (carrying 4.2-inch mortars), K281A1 (carrying 81-millimeter mortars), K277A1 (for command post), and K288A1 (carrying rescue armoured vehicles).

The DAPA said this project improved the combat efficiency and operation convenience of pilots by installing instrument panels and distribution boxes that integrate various instrument devices and power distribution functions in the cockpit.

It also added that the existing mechanical speedometer and rotating meter were replaced electronically to enable accurate measurement, and that front and rear cameras and screen displays were installed in armored vehicles to prevent the occurrence of surveillance vulnerable areas.

Considering the two-year business period, the DAPA said that it has improved the performance of only one armored vehicle type, and that it will sequentially improve the performance of K-series armored vehicles operating in the field in the future.
