The government is reportedly considering making Jan. 27 or 31 a temporary holiday sandwiched between weekends and the Lunar New Year holiday.

Related ministries, including the Ministry of Strategy and Finance, are said to have entered into talks between ministries on how to designate the 27th or 31st as a temporary holiday.

If you designate the 27th as a temporary holiday, you can take six consecutive days off from the weekend of the 25th to the 26th to the Lunar New Year holiday of the 28th to the 30th.

As consumer sentiment has rapidly frozen since the December 3 emergency martial law, it is interpreted that they are reviewing the "Golden Weekend Card," a regular menu, to change the atmosphere.

In this regard, the Ministry of Economy and Finance said it is currently reviewing various tasks to prepare the "2025 Lunar New Year holiday measures," but no specific details have been decided yet.
