The ruling party argued that the new impeachment bill needs to be resolved by the National Assembly, saying it has become a completely different impeachment inquiry, excluding all criminal crimes such as rebellion.
He pointed out that the strict investigation of evidence related to the crime of rebellion can lead to a prolonged constitutional trial, so it is read as an intention to speed up the hearing.
On the other hand, the opposition party countered that all acts of rebellion, such as the invocation of unconstitutional emergency martial law and the occupation of constitutional institutions in the impeachment bill, were reconstructed as violations of the constitution, saying they would be subject to judgment.
Chung Chung-rae, chairman of the Democratic Party of Korea, said, "Don't worry because the Constitutional Court only judges the Constitution," and insisted that President Yoon will be sentenced to death in the criminal court, which led to the suspension of the meeting due to opposition from the ruling party.
