Chief of Security Park Jong-joon, who is accused of interfering with the execution of arrest warrants for President Yoon Suk Yeol by mobilizing security officials and others, did not respond to the police special investigation team's request for a second summons.
Chief Park expressed his intention not to appear to the police just before the scheduled time of the investigation, citing that he has not yet appointed a lawyer.
The police immediately sent a third request for attendance to Director Park, asking him to come out by 10 a.m. on the 10th for an investigation.
When the police first notified him of his attendance after the execution of the arrest warrant failed on the 3rd, Minister Park refused, saying he could not leave because of his security duties.
Accordingly, the police are also considering applying for an arrest warrant if Director Park does not comply with his third request for attendance.
Earlier, the Joint Investigation Headquarters requested and issued an arrest warrant after asking President Yoon to appear three times and was denied all of them. The police, who booked four security officials, including Director
Park, on charges of obstructing the execution of special public affairs, also notified Lee Kwang-woo, the head of the security headquarters, who once refused to comply with the request for attendance.
Director Park said in his previous statement that the security service judged that it was a dereliction of duty to comply with the execution of the president's arrest warrant, and attention is being paid to whether he will investigate the police.
