Oh Dong-woon, the head of the Senior Civil Servant Corruption Investigations Unit, responded to a related question from Lee Sung-yoon and Park Beom-gye of the Democratic Party of Korea at a plenary session of the National Assembly Legislation and Judiciary Committee today (7th).
Earlier, on the 3rd, when the Senior Civil Servant Corruption Investigations Unit executed an arrest warrant for President Yoon Suk Yeol, Choi reportedly asked Acting Police Commissioner Lee Ho-young to put the police in the residence at the request of the security service.
However, the police, who were executing the warrant with the Senior Civil Servant Corruption Investigations Unit, did not respond to Choi's request.
In response, Director Oh explained that acting director Choi, who is in charge of personnel affairs at the Ministry of Security and Deputy Chief of Security, is obligated to prevent such acts from occurring, and that he is considering whether he can apply a charge of assisting in obstruction of the execution of special public affairs.
