Actor Wi Ha-joon said he has overcome some of the burden he felt after receiving great attention from around the world with the Netflix series "Squid Game."

Wi Ha-joon held an interview at a cafe in Samcheong-dong, Jongno-gu, Seoul on the afternoon of the 7th to commemorate the release of season 2 of the Netflix series "Squid Game." He appeared as Hwang Joon-ho in season 2 following season 1 of "Squid Game" and met viewers around the world.

Season 1, which was released in 2021, gained global popularity by combining the genre characteristics of survival games with Korean culture and play. At the Emmy Awards, which boasts the most authority in the U.S. broadcasting industry, leading actors Lee Jung-jae and director Hwang Dong-hyuk won the trophy, making great achievements.

The actors who appeared in season 1 quickly emerged as stars in the world's attention, and so did Wi Ha-joon at the time. The number of SNS followers surged, and since then, he has been cast as the lead in other works in succession, raising his stock price. But I didn't enjoy it at the time.

Wi Ha-joon said, "My family and people around me liked it so much because I received so much attention and had so much work, but I was so tired and anxious. I didn't like my family telling me about me, and I was angry that I shouldn't do it," he confessed honestly.

He said, "We hurt each other without knowing each other's feelings, but I think there are some things that have become stronger in the process. If I had acted more wisely and wisely at that time, I would have worked more smoothly, but I was self-pressing and anxious."

But now, three years later, it has changed. "On the eve of the production presentation of 'Squid Game' Season 2, I thought, 'When will I come to this place again?' and I think I enjoyed it the most among the events I've participated in so far. He explained his changed appearance, saying, "I said first to the new people that I saw it well."

He added that he does not want to dwell much on the number of followers on SNS. Wi Ha-joon said, "Since the release of season 2, the number of followers has increased by about 900,000. I was surprised that more people followed me than I thought. "I thought I knew everyone because I came out in season 1, but thank you for supporting me and tagging me a lot of pictures in uniform."

However, he said, "It was an unusual case that the number of followers increased rapidly after season 1 when fans were created step by step while doing one work. It has shrunk over the next three years. "After some point, I tried not to think much about my followers at some point as I saw them fall out by tens of thousands, refilled, and so on," he said.

Some viewers, who were looking forward to Wi Ha-joon's appearance in Season 2, said they were disappointed with the amount. "I think you have no choice but to feel that way," he said, but added, "In order to show the role of Captain Park, Jun-ho and mercenaries had to continue to fail. I think it will be resolved a little more if we continue to see the background," he said.

Finally, he said, "I'm happy to appear in season 2 following season 1, and I felt like I came out to say hello, but I'm proud and grateful to have more fans," adding, "I think it will be more dynamic in season 3. It would be nice if you could look forward to it," he hinted.
