Police say three people, including a Swiss and Danish tourist, were killed and three others injured, and only one person with whom was rescued unscathed when a water plane from the island of Rottnest to Perth crashed after takeoff on the afternoon of July 7 local time.Authorities in
state said a 65-year-old Swiss woman, a 60-year-old Danish man and a 34-year-old Australian male pilot were killed in the crash.
Police explained that three injured people were taken to the hospital for treatment and that there were no serious injuries.
Police investigating the cause of the accident added that some reports of the plane hitting the western rock of the island shortly after takeoff had not been confirmed.
"I was watching the water plane take off, and when it started to rise out of the water, it suddenly tilted and crashed," witnesses said.
