The Constitutional Court has strongly refuted claims by some opposition parties that it has hurriedly designated a different date for the case under pressure from the ruling camp to delay the impeachment trial of President Yoon Suk Yeol.

The Constitutional Court said in a notice today (8th) that the claim that the Constitutional Court initiated other impeachment proceedings when the People's Power floor leader visited the Constitutional Court is completely different from the truth.

Rep. Kim Yong-min of the Democratic Party of Korea earlier claimed in a broadcast interview that floor leader Kwon Sung-dong visited the Constitutional Court on the 6th and demanded that the Prime Minister and the Board of Audit and Inspection conduct an impeachment trial, and that the Constitutional Court designated the date.

However, the Constitutional Court dismissed the claim, saying that the deadline for the preparation of arguments for the Prime Minister and the Board of Audit and Inspection had already been notified.
