The Korea Popular Music Performance Industry Association issued a statement today expressing regret to Gumi City and Mayor Kim Jang-ho for unilaterally canceling private performances.
The Korea Music and Space Association urged the affected audience and performance officials to sincerely apologize and compensate, saying that the cancellation of the performance was an act that ignored the entire pop culture and art of Korea beyond one artist.
In particular, it is a clear unfair act to defy the expectations of audiences who have been waiting for the performance and deprive them of the opportunity to enjoy local culture, he said.
Earlier, Gumi City canceled Lee Seung-hwan's concert scheduled for the 25th of last month for "safety reasons," and Lee Seung-hwan is recruiting plaintiffs to participate in a damage lawsuit for the concert.
