The ice cream factory in Scotland, the United Kingdom, is actively working to reduce carbon emissions from all production processes.
To this end, we are using four wind turbines and renewable energy such as solar power generation and biomass to cover most of the electricity we need.
In Jeju, there are places that produce eggs by reducing carbon by using renewable energy.
This farming association corporation has launched the nation's first "RE100 Egg," which uses 100% of essential electricity as renewable energy.
[Kim Bong-hyun / CEO of 'RE100 Egg' Launched Farming Association: We are working on this project with the idea of protecting the Earth and we are thinking about going further in the future as well as RE100]
The corporation plans to turn six farms into RE100 farms every year starting this year.
The company plans to relocate and install solar facilities in three years to use 100% renewable energy even for home makeup here.
We plan to expand RE100 to other agricultural and livestock industries in Jeju Island.
[Younghoon Oh / Governor of Jeju Special Self-Governing Province: We plan to apply it to chicken and milk manufacturing and to milk production. From next year, we have a budget to demonstrate RE100 in citrus and house citrus cultivation.]
However, carbon neutrality through the use of renewable energy requires support from the government and local governments as the cost is not small.
