Sabrina Singh, a deputy spokesman for the U.S. Department of Defense, said at a briefing on the 8th local time that she was aware of North Korea's launch of a ballistic missile.
Singh said he does not consider North Korea's ballistic missile launches a threat to the U.S. military, but said he takes North Korea's launches seriously and will continue to monitor the situation and consult with allies.
Earlier, North Korea announced on the 6th that it had successfully test-fired a new hypersonic mid- to long-range ballistic missile on the 7th.
