The snow that fell overnight is piled on the floor, but it's not snowing now.

A heavy snow warning is in effect in five cities and counties, including Boryeong, Seocheon, and Taean in Chungcheongnam-do.

In addition, six cities and counties, including Gongju, Nonsan, and Buyeo, Chungcheongnam-do, have been given a preliminary special warning for heavy snow.

Since yesterday, the snow has been recorded at 14.7cm in Gyeryongsan Mountain, Chungcheongnam-do, 11.7cm in Chunjangdae, Seocheon, and 9.4cm in Sejongjeonui.

As the temperature fell, a cold wave warning was in effect in inland areas such as Cheonan and Asan, Chungcheongnam-do.

The lowest temperatures are expected this winter, with Gyeryongsan Mountain recording minus 16 degrees Celsius and Sejongjeon recording minus 13.8 degrees Celsius.

Chungnam Fire Department explained that there were three reports of removing icicles or requesting snow removal overnight, but there were no separate casualties.

The Korea Meteorological Administration expected more than 5 to 10cm of snow in Chungcheongnam-do today, and more than 15cm in many places.

Strong wind warnings have been issued around the west coast of Chungnam.

The maximum instantaneous wind speed was 23.7 meters per second in Taean, Chungcheongnam-do, 23.1 meters in Daecheon Port in Boryeong, and 21 meters in Chunjangdae in Seocheon.

A wind and waves warning was also issued in the coastal waters of Chungnam.

Waves are expected to be as high as 1m to 4.5m.

The Ministry of Public Administration and Security launched the first phase of the Central Disaster and Safety Countermeasures Headquarters and raised the level of the heavy snow crisis warning from attention to caution as a heavy snow warning was issued in Chungcheong Province.

In snowy areas, there may be short visibility and icy roads and thin ice on roads, so caution should be taken in driving vehicles.

In addition, the temperature is expected to drop sharply, so please refrain from outdoor activities as much as possible.
