KOSPI rose for 5th day on 'foreign buying'...Hynix Surges

Foreign buying continues, and the KOSPI has been on the rise for five consecutive days.

The KOSPI opened 0.2 percent higher at 2,526.1 on net buying by foreigners and individuals.

On the other hand, the KOSDAQ index started 0.1 percent lower at 718.89 on net selling by foreigners and institutions.

Samsung Electronics, which rose more than 3% yesterday, is mixed, and SK Hynix is up more than 4%.

At the Seoul foreign exchange market, the won-dollar exchange rate opened at 1,458.6 won, up 3.6 won.

The won-dollar exchange rate rose to 1,4644.5 won early this morning, but has since fallen to the 1,450 won range.
