As cash use has decreased, the number of counterfeit bills found has also decreased.

According to the Bank of Korea, the number of counterfeit bills discovered last year was 143, down 27 percent from a year ago.

Fake Money Discovered Longevity Has Steady Decline Since 2019 It increased sharply in 2023.

By type of volume, 5,000 won notes were the most common with 75, followed by 40 10,000 won notes, 23 50,000 won notes, and 5 1,000 won notes.

In the case of 50,000 won bills, the number of discovery longevity increased compared to a year ago, but 5,000 won and 1,000 won bills decreased.

The Bank of Korea analyzed the decrease in the use of money for face-to-face commerce due to the increase in non-cash payment methods.
