KIA said it signed an FA contract with Seo Geon-chang for a total of 500 million won, including a down payment of 100 million won, an annual salary of 240 million won and an option of 160 million won, and explained that next year's contract will be automatically extended if this year's option is met.
Seo said he was happy to play for his hometown team and said he would try to win the trophy.
Seo Geon-chang, who moved to KIA last year, had a batting average of .300 with 26 RBIs and 40 points in 94 games.
With Seo Geon-chang signing, the number of players left in the FA market is now reduced to three: pitchers Lee Yong-chan, Moon Sung-hyun, and outfielder Kim Sung-wook.
