The Daejeon Metropolitan Police Agency arrested an active-duty soldier in his 20s on charges of wielding a weapon and running away while attempting sexual assault.

Mr. A is accused of stabbing and running away after attempting to rape a woman who had no knowledge at around 3:30 p.m. yesterday (8th) in the women's bathroom of a building in Munhwa-dong, Jung-gu, Daejeon.

The victim was taken to a hospital for emergency surgery, and it is known that her life is not in danger.

Shortly after the incident, A, who was arrested by the police on the roof of an apartment building near the crime site, was found to have been on vacation at the time.
