The gondola of Deokyusan Resort in Muju-gun, Jeollabuk-do, stopped, and passengers were in the extreme cold of more than minus 10 degrees Celsius for nearly an hour.

Resort has started an emergency facility inspection as it sees it as a failure caused by electrical factors.

Reporter Kim Min-sung's report.

A sigh of relief breaks out from the stopped gondola.

"Uh, it's moving. I feel like I'm going to buy it."

It was only 15 minutes after the gondola, which started operating at 10 a.m., stopped working.

Passengers were forced to shiver for nearly an hour in the cold in a snowy mountain, no heating, and a small space suspended in the air, at around minus 15 degrees Celsius.

[Deokyusan / Resort gondola passengers: On top of the snowstorm. It's minus 13 degrees Celsius. The gondola temperature here. (The passengers) are old, so they couldn't even go to the bathroom, so it was crazy.]

There was no broadcasting equipment inside, so I was hanging in the air without hearing an explanation from the resort about the current situation.

It is said that the stopped gondola fluctuated several times and felt the fear of falling.

Deokyusan Resort, the managing body, managed to operate emergency power in 45 minutes.

[Deogyusan Resort Gondola Passengers: It's been more than 40 years since the resort was built. But the gondola melted.. I got carsick because I went up 5~6m and went down. I throw up a little on the tissue, and other ladies get carsick....]

Deogyusan Resort believes that it stopped working due to electrical factors and is trying to figure out the exact circumstances.

[Official of Deokyusan Resort: There was a power outage because after all the customers got off....]

Fortunately, more than 300 people who rode up the gondola all went down the mountain without health problems such as hypothermia, according to the fire department.
