The Ministry of Science and ICT recently explained that it delivered the contact information of acquaintances of the victim's Kakao Talk account to the bereaved family in consultation with Kakao.
However, he added that he did not provide any other account-related information, such as the name of an acquaintance, other than the phone number list.
The Ministry of Science and ICT also asked Samsung, Google and Apple to provide backed-up contact information in the cloud, considering that many cases of the victim's mobile phone disappearing.
In response, Samsung and Apple have decided to provide information, and Google is reportedly still reviewing it.
