An actor who acts as a 'trusted actor' in every work
and impresses viewers with his own character. Lim Si-wan has once again made a transformation into season 2 of Netflix's "Squid Game."
'Squid Game' is the most popular film of all time on Netflix, depicting the process of people who participate in a mysterious survival game with a prize money of 45.6 billion won risking their lives to enter the game to become the winner.
Season 2, which came off the veil on the 26th of last month, tells the story of Sung Ki-hoon (Lee Jung-jae), the winner of the last game, vowing revenge on the game's architect and jumping into survival once again. The work is once again writing a new history, ranking second in Netflix's most popular non-English-language series 11 days after its release. In the
play, Sim Ji-wan drew favorable reviews for portraying a person who may exist in reality by decomposing into a 'masterpiece' that causes financial damage to many people and even himself is chased by debt.
Today (9th), YTN had an interview with actor Lim Si-wan, who was active in Season 2 of "Squid Game", and talked about various things related to the work.
The following is Ji Si-wan and Moon Jae-in.
Q. Since the release of the second season, it has once again drawn attention from all over the world.
Im Si-wan: Throughout the COVID-19 period, I have learned that it is a great blessing that the work will be released on time and on time. Therefore, I feel very fortunate that it was released in itself.
In addition, looking at the number 1 ranking in 93 countries, I thought that the power of the content called "Squid Game" was great and amazing. Because it is Korean content, I have pride as a Korean, and I am proud as a fan of 'Squid Game'.
Q. How did you get cast in "Squid Game"?
Lim Si-wan: I received a call from the company's CEO that a casting offer for season 2 of "Squid Game" was received. It felt like a gift. As a fan who personally loved Season 1, he replied, "I will do it unconditionally" even before the CEO's story was over. It's almost the only piece I've chosen without looking at the role or scenario. Therefore, participating in it was like a festival for me.
Q. Is there a particular reason why you love "Squid Game" so much?
Im Si-wan: Personally, I think I like 'Squid Game' particularly. In particular, director Hwang Dong-hyuk seems to be good at ridiculous and unimaginable combinations, but that part came differently. For example, young children put their lives into childish pranks and created an extreme situation that did not match, and I think that was interesting and interesting.
Q. I wonder what kind of character did you think of Myung-ki as?
Lim Si-wan: After talking about working on a piece, I saw the script and found out that I took on the masterpiece. At first, I thought it might be just a one-dimensional villain, but director Hwang Dong-hyuk said, "Myeonggi is not just a villain," and explained, "He is a person who makes mistakes as a person."
For this reason, it was a point where I had a lot of worries while filming, but I had to keep asking questions about where Myung-ki was between good and evil. Myung-ki was not naturally a bad person, but he thought he was a person who made wrong choices due to greed and foolishness. He acted thinking that he was a person who made no ill will but made a bad choice and ruined himself with foolishness.
Q. Actor Cho Yu-ri maintains a subtle relationship as an ex-lover in the play, and Choi Seung-hyun is involved in a bad relationship. How was your on-the-spot chemistry with the two actors?
Tim Si-wan: Actor Cho Yu-ri does not have much acting experience, but he played a difficult and tricky role called Jun-hee. Nevertheless, watching him do it bravely made me feel like I was looking at the 'wild junior.' In the actual filming site, Cho Yu-ri also performed "Snowy Acting." As an actor, I think he is a junior who has a high possibility of doing very well.
I had an action scene with actor Choi Seung-hyun, so I went to action school together and prepared for the scene. The scene I prepared was when actor Choi Seung-hyun suffered a rib fracture at the time of filming. There must be a lot of pain that makes it difficult to breathe properly, but I was surprised to see that the filming continued without stopping.
Q. What story will unfold in season 3? If you give us a preview of what to look out for.
Temporary Wan: Myung-ki is a person who thinks Jun-hee is his person and that saving him is beneficial to him as well. The homework presented to Ming-ki is clear. It is about how to resolve the relationship with Jun-hee (played by Jo Yu-ri) and in what direction and if it gets twisted, how it will get twisted.
Personally, I love the ending of the work, but apart from this, I think he makes a stupid choice until the end when looking at the stipulation. I think I can only tell you the extent to which a silly masterpiece makes a silly choice.
As someone who hasn't seen season 3, I'm also waiting for my last season as a fan of 'Squid Game'. I hope everyone enjoys the process.
