Department of Land, Infrastructure and Transport "Starting to Extract Flight Recorder Data in the U.S."

The flight recorder and FDR data extraction work of the Jeju Air disaster passenger plane sent to the United States has begun because it is difficult to extract data in Korea.

In this regard, the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport said it will start extracting data from today (9th) after preparing for FDR's data extraction.

The Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport added that the data extraction work began at around 8 a.m. today (9th).

Among the black boxes collected at the scene of the Jeju Air plane disaster, FDR was found to have lost its connector, making it difficult to extract data in Korea.

As a result, two investigators from the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport's Air Rail Accident Investigation Committee transferred FDR to the U.S. National Transportation Safety Commission in Washington, D.C. on the 6th.
