The Korea Meteorological Administration (KMA) said that up to 30cm of snow fell in North Jeolla Province and South Chungcheong Province amid a strong cold wave, with up to 15cm more falling in North Jeolla Province and up to 8cm on the west coast of South Chungcheong Province until today.
Morning temperatures will drop to -21 degrees in Cheorwon, -18 degrees in Paju, and -12 degrees in Daejeon and Seoul, similar to or slightly lower than yesterday.
The wind chill will be close to minus 20 degrees Celsius, mainly in the central region, and it will be minus 12 degrees Celsius in Seoul, lower than yesterday.
The cold wave is expected to ease from daytime after reaching its peak this morning, and heavy snow on the west coast and Jeonbuk is expected to gradually subside from daytime today.
