Nine national universities nationwide have decided to freeze tuition this year.

There are nine national universities, including Pusan National University, Kyungpook National University, Gyeongsang National University, Chungbuk National University, Chungnam National University, Chonbuk National University, Chonnam National University, Kangwon National University, and Jeju National University.

Separately, Seoul National University, which has not raised tuition since 2009, has also decided to maintain tuition this year.

The Ministry of Education requested a freeze yesterday (9th) through a video conference with the National Council of Presidents as the trend of raising tuition fees has recently been set around private universities in Seoul.

The Ministry of Education welcomed the decision by the National University and said it would pursue on-site customized administrative and fiscal policies in the future.
