White House "Russia Loses Billions Due to Energy Sanctions"

The U.S. White House said the Biden administration is expected to "loss Russia billions of dollars every month" in connection with the large-scale sanctions imposed on major Russian oil companies and others.

"We have imposed large-scale sanctions on Russia's energy sector, its biggest source of revenue, and are targeting both Russian oil and liquefied natural gas," White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre told a briefing.

Regarding the possibility of inflation in the U.S. due to sanctions, he said, "Energy supply will exceed global demand," adding, "The U.S. gasoline price fell from $4 to $3 per gallon thanks to the president's actions."

Jean-Pierre said Biden spoke to Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and wanted to "share the continued U.S. support for Ukraine."

In addition, President Biden, who will hand over the presidency to President-elect Donald Trump on the 20th, will carry out additional pardons and commutations before leaving office, the White House said.
