Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has thanked U.S. President Joe Biden, who is about to leave office.

"We have expressed our appreciation for the important role of the United States in its unwavering support for Ukraine," Zelensky said on X on the 10th local time, revealing his phone call with Biden.

He also added that he expressed his condolences for the loss of life caused by the L.A. wildfire.

The White House also revealed the phone call between the two leaders and emphasized, "It has become clear that Putin's war is a disaster for Russia," adding, "With the courage and determination of the Ukrainians and the support of the United States, Russia has not achieved any strategic goals in the war."

The previous day, the Biden administration unveiled additional support measures worth $500 million and 730 billion won for Ukraine, including technical support for anti-aircraft missiles and F-16 fighter jets.

The Biden administration has shown a willingness to fully execute the $6 billion, or about 8.8 trillion won, previously secured before Trump's inauguration as president, who is negative about supporting Ukraine.
