Fans who interfered with defense in the U.S. professional baseball World Series last year were banned indefinitely.

The MLB Secretariat notified two fans who interfered with the defense, saying, "All MLB stadiums and other facilities will be banned indefinitely, and they will not be allowed to attend all MLB-related events."

In October last year, broadcast cameras captured Dodgers outfielder Mookie Betts trying to get the ball out of the glove when he tried to catch a foul ball in Game 4 of the World Series between the New York Yankees and the LA Dodgers.

At the time, the referee acknowledged the fans' abnormal behavior and recognized it as out.

They were immediately removed from the stadium and banned from the next Game 5.
