It turned out that the record of the last four minutes before the crash was not stored in the black box of the Jeju Air plane.

The failure to secure important data for the accident investigation raises questions about whether the accident investigation can be carried out smoothly.

Reporter Ryu Hwan-hong, why is the record of the last four minutes before the collision not saved?

[Reporter]
The exact reason has not yet been revealed.

However, the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport's Air Railway Accident Investigation Committee, which is investigating the cause of the Jeju Air plane disaster at Muan International Airport, said it will determine the cause of the accident.

On the day of the accident, the Air Railroad Accident Investigation Committee collected two voice recorders and flight data recorders in the control room at the scene.

The control room voice recorder was intact in appearance, and the flight data recorder had a damaged connector between the power source and the data storage unit.

The control room voice recorder was transferred to its own test and analysis center at Gimpo Airport and converted into a voice file after data was withdrawn.

The transcripts were then written and found that storage had been suspended about four minutes before the aircraft crashed into the localizer.

The cockpit voice recorder was sent to the National Transportation Safety Board's analysis room in Washington, D.C., along with the flight data recorder for cross-validation.

Data extraction and analysis were conducted locally from the 7th to today with the presence of two officials from the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport's aviation railroad accident investigation committee.

As a result of the analysis, it was found that both the control room voice recorder and the flight data recorder data for the four minutes just before the aircraft crashed into the localizer were stopped.

The Aviation Railroad Accident Investigation Committee explained that the pilot room voice recorder and flight recorder are important data for accident investigation, but the accident investigation is conducted through investigation and analysis of various data.

In order to reconstruct the current moment of the accident, the investigation committee continues to analyze Muan Airport control records and videos containing the moment of the accident, as well as debris parts from the site.

However, the failure to secure important data for accident investigation raises questions about whether it will be difficult to determine the exact cause of the accident.

So far, I'm YTN Ryu Hwan Hong from the Ministry of Economy.
