Daegu Mayor Hong Joon Pyo posted on Facebook and claimed, "If even the judiciary violated due process, the investigation into rebellion should also lose its legitimacy and be invalidated."

Mayor Hong said, "If the president's arrest warrant was rejected by the Central District Court or re-claimed by a certain judge from the Western District Court's Korean Law Research Association and obtained a warrant through judge legislation, not only the head of the Senior Civil Servant Corruption Investigations Unit and the head of the National Police Agency, who is suspected of having an internal relationship with the Democratic Party, have committed a felony."

"The guilt of a court administration official who avoided answering the lawmakers who inquired about it because they were investigating will not escape the suspicion that he was an accomplice," he said.

Mayor Hong also said, "The country governed by criminals is a lawless country that can only exist in Africa," adding, "It is very regrettable that my country is treated like this."
