Choo Mi-ae of the Democratic Party of Korea, a member of the National Assembly's Special Investigation Committee on Alleged Insurrection, made this statement by disclosing the data submitted by the Public Officials Pension Service.
According to the data, the corporation received a retirement benefit bill from former Minister Kim by mail on the 10th of last month, which is also the day when former Minister Kim was arrested.
The bill asked for retirement benefits for his service as the head of the presidential security and defense minister, and the "retirement date" marked the 5th of last month when President Yoon Suk Yeol approved his dismissal.
Choo explained that former Minister Kim marked "none" in the items that list the punishment, and that the reason for retirement was also "general retirement," not dismissal or dismissal.
The corporation is said to have explained to Choo that it is reviewing without paying retirement benefits yet.
