Iran has conducted air defense drills to defend its nuclear facilities in preparation for growing friction with Israel since Trump's inauguration as U.S. president, Iranian state media reported.

The drills, which began on the 4th, included Iran's Revolutionary Guards defending key nuclear facilities in Natanz from missile and drone simulation attacks from Israel and other countries, it said.

Iran's Revolutionary Guard says it used new drones and surface-to-air missiles in the exercise.

Recently, Iran has seen its influence in the Middle East weaken after the recent Israeli attack on Hezbollah, an armed group it has supported in Lebanon, and the collapse of Bashar al-Assad's regime in Syria last month.
