The National Institute of Environmental Research says air quality in many parts of the country has deteriorated due to the accumulation of dust left the previous day due to atmospheric congestion, including fog and weak smog from China.
Currently, ultrafine dust concentrations in the Seoul metropolitan area, Chungcheong, North Jeolla, North Gyeongsang, and Busan are "bad" from 36 to 48㎍ (micrograms) per cubic meter.
The National Institute of Environmental Research predicts that the concentration of ultrafine dust in most parts of the country will be "bad" in the morning due to the influence of fine dust and smog from China that remains tomorrow, but will gradually resolve in the afternoon from the central region.
